How to: Open or close a dynaset.
Solution:
In the Database window, click 'Open' from the 'Queries' list to open a dynaset. Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to close a dynaset.
NOTE: A dynaset is a type of query that displays results or updates the data in the underlying table. Dynaset queries that update data in the underlying table are: Append, Delete, Make-Table, and Update queries. Dynaset queries that do not update data in the underlying table are: Select and Cross-tab queries.
1) If the Database window is not active, activate the Database window.
2) To open a dynaset, do the following:
a) Click the 'Queries' tab in the Database window.

b) Select the desired query in the list box. (The selected query is highlighted.)
c) Click 'Open'. (The query datasheet appears.)
NOTE: If a message appears, the type of query selected is an update query that alters the data in the underlying table.
3) To close a dynaset, do the following:
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to close a dynaset.
b) (Optional) Click 'Yes' to save changes to the query, if prompted.
